Headteacher's Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for taking the time to consider Rawdon Littlemoor as you think about making the incredibly important decision about which school to choose for your child.  We are very sad that we cannot invite you in for a look around as we know we have a very special school here with fantastic pupils, highly dedicated staff, supportive families and a brilliant community. We hope our online resources will give you a flavour of how special we are and help inform your choice.

In a normal year, our year 6 pupils would have taken you on a tour through our school from our foundation stage and our youngest children right up to our 10 and 11 year olds. You would have had the opportunity to visit our classrooms, dining hall, shared spaces and school grounds. We set high standards for our pupils academically but through that tour you would also have seen the exciting opportunities our curriculum offers and how our high standards are translated across all subjects. You would have seen our pupils’ exemplary behaviour, how engaged they are in their learning and the quality of their interactions with each other and our staff. Our school is a happy and productive school environment, where children are confident, articulate and friendly.   Achievements are celebrated, collaborative work is encouraged and mistakes are embraced as an opportunity to move learning forward.

We hope you enjoy our virtual tour of school and that our guidance information is helpful.  We know that this will not substitute entirely for what you can learn about us on an Open Day. If after viewing our video and looking at our website you have any questions, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us by e-mail – Office@rawdonlittlemoor.or or by phoning us on 01138879690 and we’ll be happy to help.

You may also find the two FAQ sheets on our website useful.  One is published by Leeds City Council and explains how to apply for a school place and the other answers some commonly asked questions that we get when parents look round our school.

We hope that having looked at what we have to offer you can feed confident that we are the right school for your child’s primary education.   Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely

Julie Beardwell
