Welcome back Blackbirds! We have had a packed week, starting a new writing unit all about The Titanic and starting rehearsals for our UKS2 performance. Blackbirds have also been learning lots of new terminology for coastal features and investigating how different species of sharks are uniquely adaped to their environments.

Blackbirds are also very excited about their new homework project - to create a volcano! I look forward to seeing all your creative efforts in a few weeks time.

Our trip to Filey is on Tuesday, so please read through your Filey checklist and make sure you arrive at school on time and with a backpack containing all the things you need e.g. lunch, water, suncream, hat, small towel, change of trousers/shorts/socks and a small amount of money for an ice-cream if you would like to buy one.

All children will need to wear their school top and jumper for easy identification, but can wear tracksuit bottoms or shorts. All children will need to wear sensible walking shoes or trainers as rockpools can be slippery, and a waterproof jacket in case of rain.

Children are welcome to bring a named bucket and spade it they have one.

Have a great weekend

Miss Stevens
